Virgie A. Brown's Obituary
Funeral services for Virgie Anna Brown, age 89 of Henderson, will be held Saturday January 11, 2014 at 11:00am at the Grandview Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Jimmy Simmons and Dr. David Higgs officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown was born August 20, 1924 in Paonia , Colorado to Rush Ivan and Lillie Mae Wynkoop., and died January 6, 2014 at her residence. Virgie was a member of the Grandview Missionary Baptist Church. In earlier years she had worked as a supervisor for Olan Mills in the re-touch department, she then worked for Geo Space where she helped design the lens for the camera sent to Mars, after that she moved to Henderson where she was hired in the top ten employees hired by Anderson-Hickey Company, and the last few years she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ivan, Eddie, Paul, and Stanley Wynkoop, sister Lois Roosener, and grandsons Kevin and Kenneth Brown.
She is survived by her husband A.D. Brown of Henderson, son Richard Rush Brown and wife Rhonda of Henderson, granddaughter Jana LaRee Kirkner and husband Richard of Henderson, grandsons Allen Rush Brown and Danny Paul Brown, great-grandsons Ryan Rush Kirkner, Tyler Joe Brown, Austin James Brown, Collin Jay Brown, Robert Kirkner and wife Laurie, and Richard Kirkner, Jr. Great-granddaughters Kimberly LaRee Kirkner and Sheri Frost and husband William, great-great- grandchildren Dakota, Madison, Bryson, Savannah, William and Alyssia. Also surviving are sisters , Dorothy Evelyn Roland, Joyce McEherson, Mary Young, Leatha and husband Harry Kettle, and Leona Bell & husband Paul Justice, brother , Alva James and wife Deloris Wynkoop, sister –in –laws Doris Wynkoop and Maxine Wynkoop.
Pallbearers will be Richard Kirkner Jr, William Frost, Bobby Kirkner, Joe Sorrells, Mack Bassett, and Frank Hutchison, honorary pallbearers will be Allen Brown, Danny Brown, Ryan Kirkner, Richard Kirkner, and H.G. Turner.
Visitation will be from 10am until 11am at the church before the service.
