Graveside services for Violet Marie Beatty, 81, of Longview will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, at Grace Hill Cemetery with the Reverend David Hampton officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mrs. Beatty passed away Wednesday, July 5. She was born November 29, 1935, in Gilmer, TX to her parents, Archie Leonard and Venie Shelton. Violet retired from Good Shepherd Medical Center and the Longview News Journal.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary Beatty, who served his country valiantly in U. S. Air Force in Guam and Vietnam; sisters, Evelyn Wharton, Frances Holland, Juanita Keyworth, and Rita Brice; brothers, Willie Stone, James Shelton, Elywn and Clyde Shelton.
Those left to cherish her memory are brothers, Archie and Milburn Shelton; her son, Gene Drozd and wife Bobbie Jo of Green River, WY, and grandchildren, Tristan, Kirsti, Andrew and Raquel; niece, June Shull and Terry Edney of Gilmer, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Longview Cancer Center, 1300 N. 4th St, Longview, TX 75601.
