Ray Stroman's Obituary
GILMER- Funeral service for Ray Stroman will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home at 10am.  The family would like to invite friends and family for a time of visitation on Monday from 6-8 at the Funeral Home.
Ray was born in Dallas, TX on September 5, 1942 to parents Vinus and Vera Stroman.  Ray was one of the first hires with the Schiltz/Stroh’s Brewery, and was one of the last to leave upon the Brewery’s closing.  He was always a worker, knowing that getting the things that you want required dedication and effort.  Ray loved people, and never met a stranger, and served as a father figure to many, giving them his time and wisdom.,
Ray also served in the United States Army Reserve and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include Wanda Stroman; his daughters, Kristi Golden and husband Alan of Hawkins TX, and Becky Childress and Trent Coon of Hallsville TX; son, Shane Stroman and his wife Michelle of Longview; grandchildren Ashton Stroman, Kelby Childress, Justin Stroman, Brooklin Davis, Chandler Childress, and Sophie Golden; brothers Billy Stroman, David Stroman, Sammy Stroman, and Phillip Stroman; special friends Kit Meador, and Mike Hayes as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
