Vinson Angus Potter's Obituary
Vinson A. Potter, 82, went on to be with his heavenly Father June 26, 2005. Services will be held at Hallsville Methodist Church, Wednesday, June 29 at 2 PM.
V.A. was born February 12, 1923 in Marshall, Texas. He grew up in Marshall and married Ruby Mae Dickison. He joined the U.S. Army Corp in 1943 and returned to Marshall after WWII. In 1961, he moved with his family to Longview and was employed by U.S. Industries as a draftsman. He later worked as a VEH instructor fro Longview High School where he took great pride working with his students.
After retirement he was dedicated to the loving care of his wife, Ruby, who preceded him in death. He was a long time member of Hallsville United Methodist Church and also worked as a volunteer with Nursing Home Ministries.
He is survived by his daughters, Gayle Tutt and Carol Womack; son-in-law, Robert Womack; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Peggy Potter; grandchildren and spouses, Wade and Rebecca Womack, Tiffany and Troy Crafton, Trent and Karrie Tutt, and Wendy Womack; great grandchildren, Kylie McNabb, Zachary and Nathan Hunter, Jacob Womack, Trey Crafton, Trinity and Tatum Tutt, and Daniel and Branson Prior, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death son-in-law, Robert Tutt.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Rader Funeral Home.
The family request that memorials be made to the Hallsville Methodist Church.
