Vikki Jean Vanover's Obituary
Vikki Vanover, 58, of Longview, Texas passed away on May 19, 2017 at Longview Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be held Tuesday May 23, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Rader Funeral home. The funeral service will be held at Rosewood Cemetery in the mausoleum chapel on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at noon. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rader Funeral Home.
Vikki was born in Brownwood, Texas on October 29, 1958. She graduated from Hobbs High School and continued on to receive a Nursing degree from New Mexico Junior College.
In 1979, Vikki married Darrell Schoolcraft and of that union three daughters were born: Kristi, Kaci, and Kara.
Vikki married Chris Vanover on December 24, 2003 and added to her family two daughters, Amanda and Aleisa and two sons, Adam and Stephen.
Vikki worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Good Shepherd Medical Center for fifteen years. During that time, she assisted in the delivery of six of her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with their family, spoiling their grandchildren, spending time at their farm in Gilmer, and shopping. Vikki was blessed to be a kidney transplant recipient in 2015 and was an advocate of organ donation.
Vikki left to cherish her memories: her loving husband Chris Vanover of Longview, Tx. Children: Kristi Bodle and husband Harry of Magnolia, Tx, Kaci Sanders and husband Clif of Longview, Kara Williams and husband David of Longview, Adam Vanover and wife Janice of Allen, Tx, Amanda Hopson and husband Keith of Tyler, Tx, Aleisa Vanover of Allen, Tx, and Stephen Vanover and Wife Esther of Allen, Tx. Vikki loved and was adored by her seventeen grand children: Brooke, Dalton, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Chase, Dylan, Adalie, Gage, Kynlee, Avery, Cade, Maddox, Tatem, Noa, Ausley, Simon, and Halle. She also cherished her special relationship with her brother in law Brad Schoolcraft and sister in law Michelle of Lovington, NM and her niece Keegan and nephew Blake. She had a special bond with her Uncle Butch Bible and his wife Dixie of Coleman, Tx. Her special friend, Lori Case is thanked for her years of unfailing support and love especially during Vikki’s last years.
Vikki is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Haynes; her sister, Judy Haynes; and the father of her children, Darrell Schoolcraft.
