I’m not okay…..but I know you are. …… Mom, i have so many questions. Are u upset I wasn’t there? Deep down did u know who we were when we came to visit you? Are you with Mema? And Popee? Do you like the dress we got? It’s purple. We are all wearing purple, for you. Can you help Dad get some sleep? His eyes are so swollen . Did you see him fall off the porch after they called and told him? Were you there at Tyty’s graduation? I know you would be so proud. We are gonna have a fireman in the family now! Oh, are you gonna be there in the hospital room when little Shepard is born? He will be the first GREAT GRANDBABY! I made you a bracelet to wear with your dress and I made me Megan and Mitzi ones to match. (Purple of course) Did you get to ride home with Uncle Danny Paulk from South Dakota? I know you would’ve loved the view out the window of his RV. Can you believe Megan is a “Lollie” now? Thanks for sending little Ember early so we have a little light to love on when it gets dark here. And thanks for making Megan share with me in this blessing. lol You know….. I hear you …. When you whisper “JUST BREATHE MENDY”, and I’m trying Mom. I’m trying to be strong for Dad, and Megan and Michelle Floyd. Tucker Holt is gonna be with Dad soon so he won’t be all alone even though he feels that way now. And don’t be mad cause he made me box up your frogs, I’m pretty sure we will see them again. Patrick Holt and Tyler Holt finally replaced the kitchen sink at your house tonight. Me, Tucker and Grace Motley cleaned the house up too. Everyone has been amazing and but I just feel numb. The pain comes in waves…… cleaning out your closet…. When I was shopping at Target today….. sitting in your chair tonight watching Big Brother with the kids….. going through all your pictures..( by the way, help me remember to let people take more pictures. It was not an easy task finding pictures of you and all the Grandkids)…. I hope you are proud and you like all the arrangements that have been made to celebrate you. Dad said tonight that he has to be on his best behavior from now on cause he plans on seeing you again…… just not any time soon.. ok? And please remember that I LOVE YOU A BUSHEL AND A PECK ….. AND A HUG AROUND THE NECK!!!!
My sweet Nana… I don’t know what to say.. I’ve been missing you for a while now, but knowing you’re actually gone is so hard. I’m so thankful for getting so many good years with you, my childhood, all of the holidays, being your “hair doctor”, our pedicures and too many memories to list.
I miss you so much already, but I know you are happy and healthy hanging out with Memaw and Popee.
