Celebration of Life services for Vicki Lynn McNew, 61, of Longview, will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Trinity Baptist Church in Longview with Bro. Gary May and Bro. Dustin Law officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm at Locust Grove Cemetery south of Wills Point, Texas
Viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Vicki passed from this life into the gates of Heaven Saturday morning August 6, 2016 at Regional Medical Center in Longview after a very short battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by the family she loved so much.
Vicki was born on April 2, 1955, in Corsicana, Texas, the daughter of James Barnett Hardy and Bonnie Faye Howell. She was raised in Longview and in 1973 graduated from Pine Tree High School. She attended Kilgore College and Eastfield College. On August 20, 2005, she married the love of her life, Daniel. Vicki worked for several hospitals in their insurance departments. She also loved working as an elementary substitute teacher for several schools. Vicki was very talented and enjoyed bringing happiness to many individuals through her custom made wreaths.
Vicki loved the Lord and spent many hours studying His word. She truly loved each and every member of her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Barnett Hardy, sister, Sharon Sue Hardy, and niece, Heather Lynn Kent.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Daniel Scott McNew; mother, Bonnie Faye Hardy; sister, Janis Gail Kent; daughter, Jennifer Nicole Hammond and husband Jeremy and children, Kassel Williams, Scott and Erin McNew, Adam and Effie McNew, Jason and Tiara McNew, Amber and Ashley McNew; grandchildren Autumn, Treylyn, Jessalyn, Morgan, Taylor, Callie, Caleb, Cameron, Keiler, Bethany, and Benjamin: niece, Hannah Leigh Kent, and many other family and friends.
