Vicki Lynne Johnson's Obituary
Vicki Lynne Johnson, born in Blanchard, Oklahoma on March 24, 1950 to Frank and June Hodges, died at home on January 30, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. The oldest of five children, Vicki graduated from Sonora High School in 1968. She attended Texarkana College and in 1970, launched a compassionate nursing career spanning more than 28 years. In 1992, she co-founded Life Line Home Nursing, serving communities from Texarkana to Livingston, until retiring in 1998.
Friends and family will always remember Vicki's ability to light up a room with her smile and laugh, her gift for making everyone feel special and loved, her unwavering faith and passion for sharing it, her love of music, generosity, gourmet cooking, green thumb, perfume and favorite hat.
She is survived by Larry Johnson, her husband of 35 years, daughter Mica and husband Reece Sterling, daughter Angela Johnson, son Casey Johnson and wife Emily; five grandchildren, Jonah Long, Sydney Sterling, Codi, Bailee and Presley Johnson, all of Hallsville. She is also survived by her parents, Frank and June Hodges, sisters Yvonne and husband Artie Erwin, Ramona Hodges, Connie and husband Darrell Green and brother, Damon Hodges and wife Donna; mother-in-law Dot Johnson; brothers-in-law Don Johnson and wife Holly, Steve Johnson and wife Renea; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Buddy Johnson.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Monday, February 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, at Alpine Church of Christ.
