I met Vernon in 1983 when he was working on the remodel at the funeral home. He told my dad that he would make a great maintenance man. He was hired and as I watched him work all those years I realized he was the hardest working person I ever met. He could do and make almost anything. Bro. Vernon was one of the kindest people I have ever known. He loved his church family and was always working around the church and with a big smile. I was driving across the bridge and l looked down on I 20 and saw Bro. Vernon had stopped and was changing a tire for someone. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He will truly be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with his family.❤️
