Vernon Havis (76) of Henderson went to heaven to meet his Lord and Savior on June 1, 2020. He was born in Marlin, Texas on November 26, 1943 to Normer and Jessie Faye Havis. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Read Obituary
I just heard of Vernon's passing yesterday.(11/18/2021). He was a fine man. I was manager of a Goodyear store in Daingerfield, Texas and Vernon was my Goodyear representative. Vernon was not there to make an appearance because anytime we fell behind he would jump in and help. We formed a fast friendship and after he bought the Goodyear store in Henderson anytime I was in the area I would drop in for a visit. May he rest in peace.
I remember Mr Havis as a very kind man. As newlyweds my husband and I didn’t have much money back then and he would extend us credit which meant so much to us. He always had a smile and a handshake. I know his family will miss him greatly.
Vernon was a kind and tireless man. He was always helping others and he will be missed very much. He was meticulous in everything he did as evidenced in the way he kept his home and yard He was a wonderful neighbor to my aunt and a friend to many. Our hearts go out to his daughters and family as they grieve.
Bought quite a few tires through the years from Vernon. If I mentioned some seem wrong with my motor he would look at the vehicle and refer me to a place to get it fixed. Good friend always helpful. He will be missed.
Vernon Havis worked with my husband, Carlton (Pinky) Pinkerton at the Henderson store for several years until we were transferred to Longview Goodyear Store. But they remained friends throughout all those years and Vernon took care of my tires until he retired. Vernon also was a pallbearer at my husbands funeral in June 2006. Loved his sense of humor and his envied his energy. ha. A wonderful man. I will miss him.

When Vernon moved to Henderson his family moved in next door to me.
Later on in life he became my tire man.
Throwing papers l went through many tires and oil changes.
Vernon was a very generous and kind man.
Several weeks ago l was in Walmart and got to visit with him briefly.
