Services for Vernon Edward Spradlin, Jr., 50, of Jefferson will be 2 PM Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Spradlin passed away Thursday morning at his home in Jefferson. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Vernon was born on August 24, 1955 in Longview to Vernon and Leila Spradlin. He was retired from Southwestern Bell where he worked as a lineman. Mr. Spradlin has been a resident of Jefferson for the past 16 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Edward Spradlin, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Spradlin; children Matthew Edward Spradlin, J.J. Powell and his wife Jaime, Troy Powell, and Tracy Powell; mother Leila G. Spradlin; 1 brother Gene L. Spradlin and his wife Sarah; 3 sisters Alta LaVone Jesters, Janice Kay Leach and her husband Tony, and Anita L. Shirey and Raymond Miller; nieces and nephews Sheree Matthews, Kris Spradlin, Alta Jesters, and Alton Dean Jesters.
