Funeral services for Vernon Arthur Runia 80 of Longview will be held at Two O?clock pm Monday December 26, 2005 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home 1617 Judson Road with Reverend Willie Cabrera officiating. Burial will follow in White Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Runia passed away Monday December 21, 2005 in Longview.
He was born November 22, 1925 in Sheldon, Iowa to Ralph and Kate Runia He had lived in Longview since 1982. He was a member of the Primera Iglesia de Bautista de Longview Church.
He was the third of fourteen brothers and sisters. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Connie Runia of Longview, TX.; six sons, Vernon A. Runia, Jr. of Mokena, ILL.; Stephen Phillip Runia of Humble, Iowa; Timothy Conrad Runia of Longview, TX.; James Bradford Runia of Signal Hill CA.; Roy Ralph Runia of Thermopolis Wyoming, Thomas Carroll Runia of Park Forest Ill.; five brothers, Gerald Runia of Tyler, MN.; Robert Runia of Marshall, MN.; Wallace Runia of Balaton, MN.; Mike Runia of Aurora, CO.; Eldon Runia of Holly Springs, MS.; four sisters, Evelyn Mitchell of Lake Wilson MN.; Dorothy Mitchell of Slayton, MN.; Helen Horn of Slayton MN.; Phyllis Nielsen of Gayville, SD.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Gilbert and Richard Runia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday December 25, 2005 from 3pm until 5pm.
