Verdie Eidson Conner-McGill's Obituary
Funeral services for Verdie Eidson Conner-McGill, age 85 of Henderson, will be held Wednesday March 17, 2010 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Joe Carter & Rev Ed Basswell officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery in Longview.
Verdie went to join her Lord on March 13, 2010 after a lengthy illness at Southwood Rehab.
She was a former resident of Longview, and a graduate of Judson High School. She was employed by Sun Oil Company in Longview, and B.H. Jamerson Inc. Verdie had also owned Thelma's Guest Home of Longview for many years. She was a former bookeeper, she was an artist, and homemaker.
She was formerly married to Richard Dick Conner who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her parents Thelma Murphy Thompson, and Henry Daniel Eidson, Step father Gerald Thompson, brother Daniel Lee Eidson, and sister Blanche Wilson.
She is survived by her present husband Frank Ellis McGill of Henderson, daughter Lisa Grindle of Austin, and Don Grindle of Tatum, two grandchildren Randall & Robert Grindle of Tatum, sisters Doris McCarty of Marshall, Frances Dillard of Longview, and Dorothy Hall of Colorado. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and her many friends at Southwood.
Pallbearers will be Odean Grindle, Travis Landers, Willie Jackson, Corneliues Matlock, and Jeremy McCarty.
Memorials may be made to the Southwood Rehab chapel building fund, or Heart to Heart Hospice.
