Van Arden Walker's Obituary
Masonic graveside services for Van Arden Walker , 61, of Hallsville will be 10 AM Tuesday, June 5th at Noonday Cemetary in Hallsville with Thomas Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Van passed away Friday, June 1st at his residence.
Mr. Walker was born September 9, 1945 in Marshall, Texas to Gaston and Lucille Walker. He attended Hallsville Schools where he played baseball. He loved the sport so much that he went on to coach Little League Baseball for many years. He served in the National
Guard and was employed by Stroh?s Brewery for 31 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the James F. Taylor Masonic Lodge and the Hallsville Church of Christ.
For 39 years, he was married to his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann Jones Walker, who will continue to take care of Van?s ?Little Girl? Lacee, his pet.
Surviving family members include his wife, Elizabeth
Walker; a daughter Teresa Ann White and son-in-law Michael White of Hallsville; a son, Chad Arden Walker and daughter-in-law Veronica Walker of Navasota, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica, Lauren, and Natalie Dirksen of Hallsville; a brother, Jackie Walker and his wife Nancy Gallien Walker of Longview; a sister, Sally Morgan and her husband B.A. Morgan of Springhill, Texas; sisters-in-law, Nelda Dunn and her husband Fred Dunn of Arlington, Texas, Tana Jones of Cedar Creek Lake; brother-in-law Charles Jones and his wife Stacey of Jefferson, Texas; mother-in-law, Geraldine Oldham of Jefferson, Texas along with 14 nieces and nephews and special friends, Roy ?Bull? Barrymore and Garland Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a brother, Ronnie Walker and a nephew, Robby Walker.
The Walker family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Southern Care Hospice for the short period of time you were there help in any way.
Pallbearers will the masons from the James F. Taylor Masonic Lodge in Hallsville, Texas and Honorary Masonic Pallbearer, Fred Dunn of Arlington, Texas.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice in Longview.
