Valton "Val" Perkins' Obituary
Funeral services for Valton "Val" Perkins, 50, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Restoration Fellowship Church on HWY 259 in Longview with Reverend Tommy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at 4 PM at Trout Creek Cemetery in Call, Texas. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Perkins passed away Tuesday evening in a local hospital. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Val was born on March 23, 1962 in Dallas, Texas. He was the owner of The House Doctor, and enjoyed his work remodeling and construction in East Texas for many years. He was a proud member of the Restoration Fellowship Church and loved serving at and telling people about his church. Val was also an accomplished artist and a great lover of the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and loved camping and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father, Verdul Perkins; and by his grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kimberly Mathis Perkins; his daughters and son-in-law, Lona Kaye and Cody Hester, Lauren Jaynes, and Layla Jaynes; one grandson, Gunner Hester; and his mother and step-father Betty and Rick Wakefield of Orange, Texas, and his mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Linda Mathis. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Danny Willford, and Tammy and Sewalt Nichols; and his brother, Tony Perkins.
