Valentina (Tina) Schkut Elmore's Obituary
Valentina (Tina) Schkut Elmore was born on April 2, 1926 in Poland. She was a Russian but her mother went to visit relatives in Poland from Russia and gave birth to Valentina there. She and her sister, Nina. Were taken from their home and family at a young age and put into a camp in Germany. She escaped that camp without her sister’s knowledge at the same time the American’s were liberating Germany.
She met Billy (Bill) Jo Elmore in Germany while he was serving in the U.S. Army. They were married in November of 1946 and came to the U.S. by ship. Valentina was so proud to have become a citizen of the United States of America and she loved America so much. What a great tribute to her that God took her home to Heaven on the 4th of July.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, in March of 2000. Those left to cherish her memory are her brother and sister-in-law Jim and Twila Elmore of Grove, Oklahoma her sister-in-law Leda Elmore of Okemah, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family request that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 8, 2019 in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel at 10 AM for a time of visitation and remembrance. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
