Utah Carroll McAlister's Obituary
White Oak- Utah Carroll McAlister, 80, of White Oak passed away peacefully in his sleep April 27, 2009. Mr. McAlister was born May 19, 1928, in Cotton Valley, Louisiana. He was a resident of White Oak for nearly 45 years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret McAlister. Three daughters and two sons, Carol George and Jay Holsworth of Gilmer; Dale and Brenda McAlister of Gilmer; Eva and Buddy Dodson of Gilmer; Vance McAlister of Longview; Tammy and Michael of White Oak. Two Sisters, Ruth Ashe of Longview and Linda and Lee Fields of Tatum. Seven grand children, nineteen great-grand children and numerous nephews and nieces.
He proudly served his country in two armed services. A Seaman 1st class in the Navy, he was stationed in the Pacific. Upon his discharge in November 1947, he joined the Army serving in Italy as a Corporal E4.
Mr. McAlister then worked the oilfields throughout Texas until his retirement in 1993.
Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
