Graveside services for Travis J. Strong, 87, of Longview will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in Winterfield Cemetery with the Chaplain Rick Webb. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday evening July 18, 2005 at the funeral home.
Mr. Strong was born on March 1, 1918 in Henderson to Dock and Lucy Strong. He passed away on Friday, July 15, 2005 in a Longview hospital.
He was retired from General Tire Service of Longview, and a long time member of Winterfield United Methodist Church.
Mr. Strong was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Ruby and son, Terry. He is survived by his son, Michael Strong of Shreveport, LA.; stepdaughter; Dorothea Strong and her husband Lawrence of Bossier City, LA.; stepson, James Terry and his wife Barbara of San Antonio; grandchildren, Linda Bates of Bossier City, LA., Joe Terry and John Terry both of Houston; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and one sister, Faye Summers of Uncertain.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Strong to: Winterfield United Methodist Church, 2616 Tryon Rd., Longview, Texas 75605.
