I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Travis and I know he will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. I have the most wonderful memories of a warm, generous, kind, and humerous Christian man who was so giving to all he met and especially to his family. Travis and Flora were such wonderful friends to my family - Jake, Hilda, Ron Gieser and myself. I always thought he was such a handsome man - especially in his Navy uniform and I must admit to a girlhood crush on Travis. He will be truly missed. When I was young my family would travel to Longview to visit Aunt Flora Belle and Uncle Travis. It was always a fun time and I rembember Uncle Travis through the years as being a kind and gentle man.

Uncle Travis was a major influence in my life. He lived with us for a year after his mother died and he was like a big brother to me. His life was a story of service to God, Church, and Family. I have such wonderful memories of your Dad and Mom from my childhood. I still have the silk handkerchief he sent from Korea with my picture painted on it when I was about 2 yrs. old.
