Tommie Miller Baker's Obituary
Tommie Miller Baker Mrs. J.T. Baker, Jr., beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 10, 2013. Tommie was born March 7, 1931, in Minden, Louisiana, to Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Miller. She was the salutatorian of the 1948 class of Minden High School. She married J.T. on September 5, 1950 and was happily married for 62 years. While J.T. traveled as a pipeline engineer, Tommie was the heart of the home, providing peace, love and tranquility, as well as instilling Christian family values in their three children. They were longtime members of First Baptist Church, Haynesville and Oakland Heights Baptist Church, Longview. She was the ultimate and sweetest mother and Granny ever known.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harry Miller. She is survived by her husband and their children: Gene and Ellen Baker, Lynn and Jerry Kiser, and Larry and Susan Baker; her grandchildren: Angela and Corrado Castiglione, Matthew and Sally Ware, Michael and Katie Ware, Brent Ryals, Emily and Chris Jackson, Dustin Baker, Sarah and Kyle Urbanek, Rachel Baker, Matt and Connie Kiser, and Haley and Justin Neufeld; and her great-grandchildren: Samantha, Antonio, and Kinzlee Castiglione, Lane Ware, and Reese Ware. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law; Jeannine Miller, Peggy Perryman, Betty Lowe and her husband A.D., and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to express appreciation for the loving care given to our wife and mother by her earthly angels: Maria Sartin, Carolyn Fisher, Nancy Massey, Peggy Black, and HeartsWay Hospice.
The family will receive visitors at Rader Funeral Home in Longview on Tuesday, March 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m... Services will be held Wednesday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview. Interment will follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery in Longview. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or HeartsWay Hospice.
