Tom E. Trice's Obituary
Thomas Enoch Trice, Jr. was born 13 August 1927 outside of Denton, Texas to the recently widowed Mary Evalena Mulkey Trice and her late husband, Thomas Enoch Trice, Sr. Like many of his generation, Tom worked from early childhood onward. For whether selling ice and newspapers in the 1930s, peddling shoes or loans in the 1940s, selling used cars and auto parts in the 1950s, new automobiles and life insurance in the 1960s, cattle, coins, and precious metals in the 1970s and 1980s, or clothing, comic books, and sports memorabilia in the years since, Tom genuinely loved to bargain not simply to make a living, but for the sheer pleasure of the social exchange.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, three brothers, and first wife. He is survived by his wife, Jean Atkinson Trice of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Alan Colley of Leander, Texas; son Tom R. Trice of Los Osos, California; step-daughter Sharon Jones of Houston; step-daughter and son-in-law, Deborah & Rob Deal, of Houston; granddaughter Jennifer Wynn of Round Rock, Texas; step-granddaughter Megan Henry of Houston; great-grandchildren Jacob Eggeling and Ashley Adler; niece and grand-niece, Susan and Jessica Lasyone.
