Todd Davis' Obituary
Derek Todd Davis, 45, was born January 31, 1965 in Longview and died January 26, 2011 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. A memorial service is set for 11 AM Friday, January 28th at Mobberly Baptist Church Gym with Dr. Greg Zachary and Rev. Bud Miller officiating. Private family burial will be at Summerfield Cemetery.
Todd attended Ware Elementary, Judson Junior High, and graduated from Longview High School in 1983. While at LHS, Todd lettered in golf and graduated in the top ten percent of his class. Todd attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where he majored in Video Cinematography. He received an Award of Excellence in Communication Studies from the Bob Banner program. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and also served as a KA Alumni Advisor. Todd was a music enthusiast and a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.
Todd was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Pauline Propes of Arp, Texas and his paternal grandparents, Lester and Katherine Davis of Troup, Texas. Left to cherish Todd?s memory are his loving parents, Charles and Linda Propes Davis of Longview, his sister, Charlinda Davis Gray Jim and nephews Jacob, Tyler and Parker Gray, all of Combine, Tx. He is also survived by special friend Karen Whitlow and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home from 5-7 pm Thursday, January 27th. In lieu of flowers, you may honor Todd?s love for children by contributing to Asbury House, 320 S. Center Street, Longview, TX 75601
