Timothy James Triece's Obituary
On October 16, 2024, Timothy James Triece, son of John Eugene and Mary Ellen, made his final trail ride on the highway to Heaven in true Tim Triece form - under the Hunter’s moon with panoramic views of Lake Cherokee from his beloved home. Tim was born in Longview, Texas, where his Lobo fandom began until his father was transferred to Dallas and the family moved to Highland Park, Texas. His love of the Highland Park Scotties far surpassed his graduation date of 1973, recounting every sports statistic along the way. After a fun stint at Texas Tech University, he then graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with a degree in AgriBusiness. In June of 1982, while managing a fertilizer plant in McKinney, Texas, Tim married his perfect catch, Kimberly Sue Demoney. In 1985, the two of them grew their family with the birth of their only child, Emily Suzanne. Tim migrated into the field of animal health as an award-winning pharmaceutical salesman to veterinarians and ranchers, outlasting several mergers and eventually ending his career with Pfizer. It was during this time, Tim acquired the family lake house on Lake Cherokee that was originally purchased in 1970 by his parents. Tim, Kim, and Emily moved to Lake Cherokee where they became Tatum Eagles throughout Emily’s teenage years. Tim was able to enjoy his retirement years doing what he loved - fishing and duck hunting on the lake. Along with deer hunting, he always kept the freezer stocked with game to provide for friends and family. He was a passionate conservationist and was proud of the work he did to help establish a pine tree plantation for a dear friend’s heirs. Passing down his knowledge of all things outdoors to anybody who wanted to learn was something he never tired of doing. He was a stickler about the ethics of being in nature and was sure to take very opportunity to educate those around him.
He was a spirited story teller and hosted many friends of all ages on the front porch imparting wisdom where he could.
He beamed with pride over his daughter, Emily, and fought with all he had to acquire more time here on earth with his beloved grandchildren, Nolan, 11, and Caroline, 5. During his hospice journey, Tim witnessed the kind of husband and father his son-in-law Grant McMillan is, and it pleased him to know that he was leaving his family in capable, loving hands.
In March of 2021, Tim was diagnosed with terminal squamous cell carcinoma. After an arduous battle through chemotherapy and radiation, Tim fought past every life expectancy given. While in hospice care at home with Heartsway Hospice, he was given a prognosis of 4-6 months, and he even surpassed that one by more than a year.
The Triece family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff of Heartsway Hospice, specifically Amy Clinton, who they believe was Heaven sent. To the Ryan Cole family, who brought us so much comfort and peace, we are forever grateful and bonded. And to all who provided us support during this trying journey, we love you.
A memorial service for Timothy James Triece will be held October 26th, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Cherokee Water Company, NK-20 Lake Cherokee, Longview, Texas. A Celebration of Tim’s Life will immediately follow. Honorary pallbearers include: Mark Chaddick, Ryan Cole, Kyle Wilson, Richard Hill, Bob Pickle, Kenneth Wilson, and Jacob Pickle.
