Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. McIntosh passed away Monday morning at his home surrounded by his family. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Cotton was born on September 28, 1923 in Pritchett, Texas to Marshall and Minnie McIntosh. He proudly served his country during WWII. After his discharge from the Army, he worked as a mechanic and drove big trucks for many years before he taught the very first Auto Mechanics Class in Pine Tree I.S.D. He was a long time member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. Cotton enjoyed fishing and he loved his family and friends dearly and loved to take care of them. He would not sit down to eat until everyone was taken care of.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy McIntosh; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Edna McIntosh; his children and their spouses, Charles and Cindy McIntosh of Kilgore; Kathy and Bill Bailey of Nederland, TX; and Susan and Vic Barrow of White Oak; his grandchildren, Terry Bailey, Janis Newton and husband Scott, Nick McIntosh, Joey McIntosh, and Holly Dyer; his great grandchildren, Alyssa Bailey, Lane Newton, J.J. McIntosh, Natalie and Nate Dyer; and one sister, Tommie Lou Baxter of Longview.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Beacon Hospice for all of their loving care and attention. Memorial donations may be made in Cotton's honor to Beacon Hospice at Margaret's House, 5016 Gilmer Road, Longview, Texas 75604, or do something good for someone in his honor. Cotton loved helping people and you can honor his memory by carrying on this tradition.
