Thomas William Stence, 60, passed away on June 7, 2020, while in Marquez, TX for business. Tom was born January 6, 1960 to Robert E. Stence, Sr. and Patsy Stence Wildrix. He was a life-long resident of Longview and graduated from Read Obituary
For those that don't know me my name is Nick Anderson, and Jacob, and Josh Stence are two of my oldest and dearest friends in the world, my best friends really, they were my other family, And Tom was a great man, a great builder of homes and not just a great builder, but a genuine, honest, extremely hard worker. He was a kind and giving man, he could also be strict when certain situations called for it. He had a passion and a love for his kids, his friends, and for his work. He put everything in his work and family life he could, all of his blood, sweat, and tears. Let me share one of the fondest memories I have of him, it was me Tom, Jake, Josh, and Tracie, we were all going somewhere I cant remember where exactly, but I think they were taking me home maybe I'm not sure, lol. But we were all in the truck, we were still pretty young, me Josh and Jake were in our early to mid teens, tracie I think was 12. Anyway we were cruising down the street, and Tom petty's song free fallin came on and then Tom started singing out of nowhere, lol and then we all started singing it together, he had a pretty big smile on his face that day, and then we all started looking at each other singing and smiling and laughing together. I think they lived in haltom, or some little town with an h in east Texas cant remember the name exactly lol. But that's one of the best times I remember.

I have known Tom & sister Cindy for many years. I have done Toms taxes for years. I don't know of a more caring loving person. God Bless all. Tom I will miss you!
I got to know Tom when he and his crew build our Satterwhite Log Home a few years ago. He was a very conscientious and kind man. You could tell he knew what he was doing from the start a quality foreman and carpenter. If I remember correctly, Jesus was a carpenter as well. Wonder what he and Tom are building together in Heaven?
Tom will be missed by many but he built many happy memories for others.

We were so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. Tom & his crew built our log cabin as well as the addition a few years later. It was such a pleasure getting to know him. May God bless & comfort all the family, coworkers & friends.
