Thomas Henery "Tommy" Shipp's Obituary
Graveside services for Thomas Henery “Tommy” Shipp, 73, of Longview will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, at Enoch Cemetery in Gilmer with Bishop Chad Newman officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Shipp died July 15th. He was a Baptist, born September 9, 1942, in Ore City, TX to Oscar and Lillie Shipp. His family moved to Honey Grove, TX, where he grew up. He moved to Longview and worked for R.G. LeTourneau as a machinist for many years and then worked as a mechanic for TXU and retired as a maintenance supervisor after 23 years.
Mr. Shipp is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Linda Ann; daughters, Tammy Shipp, Shelley Cook and husband Casey; son, Terry Shipp; stepdaughters, Mary Ann Kennedy and Tracy O’Con; stepsons, Thomas Jordan and wife Karla and James Jordan; eighteen grandkids and eight great grandkids.
Mr. Shipp was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Shipp and Jimmy Shipp; sister, Faye Bell Springfield; and stepson, Daniel Jordan.
