Thomas Lummus' Obituary
Thomas “Tommy” Hudson Lummus, age 78, of Longview, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at Treviso Transitional Care. Tommy was born in Dallas, Texas on February 21st, 1945 to Frank Lummus Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Hudson Lummus.
Services will be held at Rosewood Park on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 10 am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday. Mr. Lummus was born in Dallas, Texas on February 21, 1945 and passed away on Longview on August 30, 2023.
Tommy was a member of The Remnant Church in Longview. He served in the Navy as a radioman in the Vietnam War. When he was discharged from the Navy he went to work at Day and Zimmermann in Texarkana, Texas. After he moved to Longview he worked at Holt. Retiring there after 43 years. Tommy loved to watch his boys play Baseball and Soccer, gardening, watching westerns, and spending time with family.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jack Lummus, and his niece Rachel Sonnier Leach.
Surviving family members include his wife of 55 years, Bobbie McCord Lummus of Longview, two sons Lowell and Tim Lummus of Longview, two sisters Becky Sonnier of Church Point, LA, and Candy “KK” Adams of Naples, one brother Bill Lummus of California, six grandchildren Morgan, Haley, Stormie, Skyela, Matthew, and Olivia Lummus, seven great-grandchildren, Treven, Harmony, Malaysia, Solomon, Janae, Rheia, Hamilton, and numerous other relatives and friends.
