Thomas K. "Bud" Bedsole
Funeral services for Thomas K. "Bud" Bedsole, 89, of White Oak will be held at 12 Noon Friday, August 30, 2013, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverends Ricky Ricks and Bill Arden officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bedsole was born October 5, 1923, in Harmen, LA, to Talmage F. and Mary Jane Knight Bedsole. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He married Mavanee Cumbie on April 30, 1945, and had been a resident of White Oak since 1982. He was a retired assistant plant manager with Getty Oil Co. in Mobile, AL. He attended Kilgore College, University of Tulsa and received his Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas Baptist University. Mr. Bedsole was a member of the American Legion and former president of the White Oak Lions Club. He was a member of Greggton United Methodist Church and was a supporter of Asbury House.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mavanee; son, James Lynn Bedsole; sister, Norma Anderton; and brother, Dan Bedsole.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Jan Bedsole of White Oak; daughter-in-law, Ruth Bedsole of Houston; grandchildren, Lauren Bedsole, Bart Bedsole and wife Julie, and Melissa Bayne and husband John; great grandchildren, Cooper and Jenna Bayne, Alexis and Brook Bedsole; sisters Rosemary Mitchell and Beverly Tinsley, both of Georgetown; sisters-in-law, Lee Bedsole of Richmond, VA, and Wanzelle Finley of White Oak; and brothers-in-law, Arthur Fort of Longview and Bill Finley of White Oak and numerous nieces and nephews.
