Thomas Joe Pruitt's Obituary
Graveside services for Thomas "Joe" Pruitt, 76, of Longview, will be 2 PM Thursday at Laneville Cemetery, Laneville, TX, with Reverend Rita Sims officiating. Interment will be in Laneville Cemetery following services.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Rader Funeral Home, Longview.
Mr. Pruitt died Monday morning in a local hospital.
Joe was born November 3, 1931 in Laneville to the late John Gus and Lela Lou Pruitt. He was a retired supervisor in the research and development department for Texas Eastman. Joe was a member of Winterfield United Methodist Church and was the founder of the band, "Joe Pruitt and The Fables", that had played all over East Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Doris Ginny Scoggins. He is survived by his daughters: Jeanne Ward and husband David of Longview, Kay Leonard of Longview and Donna Hagen of Longview; grandchildren: Krista Hatt, Patrick Williams and wife Tiffany, Joel Eades and wife Lucy, Jake Leonard and Mason Leonard, all of Longview; great granddaughters: Annika Hatt, Madison Williams and Jacelyn Eades; special friend: Martha Thrash of Jefferson and 2 nieces.
