Services for Thomas Richard Cox, 73, of Longview will be at 2pm, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview with David Reeder officiating. Burial will be in Memory Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held the night Before at Rader Funeral Home. Mr. Cox passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in Longview.
A resident of Longview, Mr. Cox was born June 22, 1941 in Texarkana, AR to Richard “Luther” and Ruby Wilson Cox. Petty Officer Cox was retired from a service related disability in the United States Navy as a machinist’s mate 2nd Class. He loved gardening, plants and traveling.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, son James R. Cox, daughter Christine Means, brother’s Joe Stockton, Eddie Stockton, Daniel Stockton, and sister’s Jean Bowman and Eloise Freeze.
Tom is survived by his wife Joyce Cox, sons Kirt Cox and wife Sandra, John Christopher and wife Jennifer, Jonny Hinijosa and wife Laura. Stepchildren Curtis, Bridget, Mark, Dale and Staci, 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Cox is also survived by his 2 cousins (brothers) Billy Wilson and Presley Wilson, and special friends and in-laws Teel and Jane Paul.
