Theo "Cotton" Bell
Funeral Services for Theo "Cotton" Bell, 92, of Longview, will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, June 27, 2002 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, with the Reverend Dewayne Beaty officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park. Those unable to attend may sign an online memorial book at www.raderfh.com in the obituary section, and later view the service through the funeral-cast icon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday evening June 26, 2002 at the funeral home.
Mr. Bell was born on June 10, 1910 in Munday, Texas to Richard and Josie Bell. He passed away on Monday evening June 24, 2002 in a Longview hospital.
A resident of Longview, since 1966, Mr. Bell had spent 46 years with the Exxon Pipeline Company and was District Superintendent before retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Odd Fellows Lodge, a Charter member of Longview Regional Hospital?s Auxiliary, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Longview, where he was a member of the Business Men?s Bible Class.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Rubie J. Bell of Longview, daughter and son-in-law, Karen Linn and John Thomas of Longview, granddaughters, April and Kimi Thomas, both of Longview, Carrie Thomas of Austin, brother-in-law, J. Ray and wife, Maria Jones of Mena, Arkansas, special friends, Gary and Karen Moon of Longview, and Glenn and Betty McNeill of Longview, several nieces and nephews, including, Peggy and Autry Andress of DeLeon, Texas, Sam and Lanell Upshaw of DeLeon, Texas, and A.J. Bell of Austin.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or to the Highway 80 Rescue Mission.
