Thelma Mayhew Garrison's Obituary
Graveside services for Thelma Mayhew Garrison, 82, of Longview, TX will be held at 12 Noon Friday, October 28, 2005 in Memory Park Cemetery with
Reverend James Tallant officiating. Interment will follow under the direction
of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mrs. Garrison was born October 25, 1923 in Milford, Illinois to Glenn Raymond Mayhew and Mabel Rachel Field Mayhew and passed away on her birthday.
A Longview resident since 1977, Thelma was a member of the Methodist faith and a homemaker.
Mrs. Garrison grew up in Watseka, Illinois and played piano and sang in the Ray Mayhew family band during the war years.
She married Harry Garrison of Earl Park, Indiana, on October 18, 1945 and moved to Texas in 1955, where she lived in Corpus Christi and Kilgore before moving to Longview in 1977.
Mrs. Garrison was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry J. Garrison; brothers, Donald Mayhew and Samuel Mayhew and sister, Lucille Howard.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheri Tallant and husband, James of Wills Point, TX., Polly Olsovsky of Longview, TX and Suzanne Pilcher of Gilmer, TX; grandchildren, Adam Ruthford and wife, Robin of Mansfield, TX, Amy Kelsch and husband, Bryan of Euless, TX, Chris Ruthford of Princeton, TX, Craig Ruthford of Princeton, TX, Ali Cox and husband, Brad of Wills Point, TX; great grandchildren, Alex and Beth Ruthford, Matthew and Benjamin Kelsch; brother, Rex Mayhew, and numerous other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Adam Ruthford, Chris Ruthford, Craig Ruthford, Brad Cox and Bryan Kelsch.
