Thelma Easley Rhea's Obituary
Thelma Easley Rhea age 89 of Longview passed away at Longview Regional Medical Center August 25, 2013 after suffering from heart failure.
She was one of seven children and was born June 20, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant, TX in Titus County to Phillip and Dora Easley. Thelma graduated from Dangerfield high school.
She lived in Dallas for many years then moved to Longview in 1973 and has lived at the Eastman estates since December 2008. She retired from Texas Employment Commission. Thelma was a faithful member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Classic Care senior citizen group. She enjoyed meeting people and made many friends during her long life. She also was an avid seamstress and made many of her clothes. Thelma had an independent and adventuress nature and loved to travel abroad. She will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Thelma is survived by her dear sister Opal Freeman of Ore City, Texas, her nephew William Dan Freeman and his wife Darlene who care for her needs the last 5 years she was at Eastman estates, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her husband Edward Rhea, parents and 5 siblings all precede her in passing.
Funeral services for Thelma will be today 10am at Rader Funeral Home in Longview officiating will be Rev. Kevin Bright of Greggton Baptist Church. Honoring her as pallbearers will be W A Freeman, Jr., Jimmie D. Freeman, Donald Rea Keller, Samuel M. Winkles, Mark W. Slagle, Danny Murphy and O.W. Johnston as Honorary pallbearer. Following services interment will be at Memory Park Cemetery.
