Thelma Croxton Blakenship's Obituary
Thelma Croxton Blakenship passed away on November 16, 2003. Born on November 30, 1907, Mrs. Blakenship was a native Texan. She was a lifelong resident of the state; a resident of Longview since 1960.
After beginning her adulthood as an elementary school teacher, Mrs. Blakenship married and devoted her life to care for her family. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Longview, and served in various roles throughout her membership in the local Garden Club. Mrs. Blakenship was an accomplished and talented cook, seemstress, and craftsman.
Mrs. Blakenship was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than sixty years, Richard W. Blakenship and son, Joseph C. Blakenship. She is survived by her grandson, Joseph C. Blakenship, Jr., of Longview; and her granddaughter, Nancy Blakenship Keckler of Reno, NV; two great granddaughters, Barbara and Rachel; and one great great granddaughter, Hasana.
A private family graveside service will be held.
