Services for Thelma Buchanan, 80, of Longview will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2011 in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Reverend Gregg Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM prior to the service in the Mausoleum. Mrs. Buchanan was born on August 1, 1930 in Longview to Roscoe F. Sr. And Catherine Northcutt. She passed away on July 23, 2011 in a Longview hospital. Thelma loved the Lord, her family and friends. She enjoyed old black and white movies as well as buying, selling and trading early American antiques. She and Aubrey received great joy for many years teaching 1st grade Sunday School at Macedonia Baptist Church.
A life long resident of Longview, Mrs. Buchanan was a homemaker and a member of Mobberly Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Aubrey Buchanan of Longview; son, Aubrey N. "Buck" Buchanan and wife Melanie of Longiew; grandchildren, Cam Buchanan of Longview, Misti Bryan of Longview; great grandchildren, Alex Bryan, Sam Bryan, Aiden Buchanan; brother, Roscoe F. Northcutt, Jr. And wife Virginia of Longview; brother-in-law, Jack Buchanan of Longview; she is also survived by Katrina Buchanan of Angola, IN, and special nephews, Mike Northcutt and wife Carolyn, and John Northcutt and wife Donya, all of Longview.
