Thatcherette McDaniel's Obituary
Thatcherette McDaniel, formerly of Longview, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26th in North Richland Hills, Texas, surrounded by her family. She loved deeply, was loved deeply and will be missed by all. Visitation with the family will be Monday, April 28th at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Services will be Tuesday, April 29th at Pine Tree Church of Christ at 11:00 AM with burial immediately following at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Thatcherette was born October 11, 1936 in Lufkin, Texas to John Franklin and Omie Lake. In June of 1956, she married the love of her life, Bill McDaniel. They were blessed with three children. In 1960 Bill and Thatcherette moved to Longview where they resided for 52 years. Thatcherette was fortunate to work with some wonderful mentors throughout her career. She retired from Stemco in 1992 where she worked for 23 years and went on to work for Century Plaza where she worked until 1999. She was co-founder and a long time board member of Junior Achievement of East Texas and volunteered her time and experience working with many other civic organizations in the Longview area. She and Bill were longtime members of Pine Tree Church of Christ in Longview where they were supporters of many mission and outreach programs. Faith and belief in God played a big role in her life and the life of her family. She was a living example of God and Christ leaving a powerful legacy of godly love by serving others. She was also a wonderful cook. Many folks have been blessed to sit around the dinner table to savor and relish the meals prepared by her.
Bill and Thatcherette moved to North Richland Hills in 2012 to be closer to children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and are current members of Heritage Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. F. and Omie Lake, and brother, James Lake. She is survived by her loving husband Bill McDaniel, her daughter Debbie Wise and husband Steve, daughter Dana Fielder and husband Phil, son Bill, Jr., grandchildren Jennifer and Brandy, Ashley and Tim, Tucker, Tanner, great –grandchildren Maddox and Corwin, and many extended loving family members.
