Terry Lee McKinley's Obituary
Terry L. McKinley, 64, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father on August 25, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Longview, Texas.
Terry was born September 5, 1948 in Elmhurst, Illinois. The family moved to Longview, Texas where he was raised with his brother, Ken and sister, Nancy. He graduated from Longview High School in 1967 where he played varsity football and made many life-long friendships.
Terry earned a Bachelor's degree from Baylor University in 1974 while working full-time and starting his family. In 1986, Curtis-McKinley Roofing & Sheet Metal was established in Longview where he worked for the remainder of his career. He built a reputation as an honest businessman who was highly respected by his peers. In 1995, he married his wife, Nancy who is a loving mother to his children.
Terry's love for family was equaled only by his passion for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This was evident by his selfless support of numerous mission groups and ministries. He served on the board of directors for Scripture Memory Fellowship, Light Ministries, Advancing Native Missions, and Higher Rock Ministries. His legacy will live on through the work of these organizations as they continue to win souls for the Lord in all corners of the world.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Kenneth F. McKinley; his mother, Louise Thomas McKinley; mother, Louise Harlan McKinley; and brother, Richard Harlan.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy McKinley of Longview; brother, Kenneth E. McKinley and wife, Debra, of Tyler, Texas; sister, Nancy McDaniel and husband, Steve, of College Station, Texas; sisters, Mary Harlan Miller and husband, Doug, of Crescent, Texas and Katharine Baumann and husband, Richard, of Stokesdale, North Carolina; daughters Missy Davis and husband, Ronnie, of Prosper, Texas and Madison McKinley of Longview; sons David McKinley and wife, Melanie, of Longview, Anthony McKinley and wife, Teri, of Hallsville, Texas, and Joseph Fuller and wife, Nicole, of Longview; 6 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
