Terry Fisher's Obituary
Terry Fisher drew closer to God when she passed from this temporary life on June 14, at the age of 76. Now, she lives eternally with our Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Rader Funeral Home will host a time of visitation with family members from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23. The memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview. A graveside service will follow at Alpine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to any organization that conducts children’s cancer research such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
Born on May 2, 1941 in Temple, Texas and named Madeline Terrell Daniel by her parents, John B. Daniel Jr. and Corinne Daniel, her family and friends knew her as “Terry.” She graduated from Temple High School and the University of Texas with a BA in education. She poured out her life in service to others, as a mother, teacher, devoted disciple of Jesus, and intercessory prayer warrior. She personally extended the kingdom of God in China, the Philippines, Haiti, Mexico, and Afghanistan. Everywhere she went, she made much of Jesus. Her voice message reminded every caller of her favorite verse, “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Leave a message, I’ll call you back.” Even as her departure from this earthly life drew near, she lived each moment as an assignment and opportunity to share Jesus. Well done, good and faithful servant.
She is survived by five children and sixteen grandchildren who knew her as “Mom” and “Granny T”: her son David Fisher, wife Sherlyn, grandchildren Jefferson, Sarah, Jonathan, and Jacob; her daughter Elizabeth Monroe, husband Bruce, grandchild Callie; her daughter Martha Ruff, husband David, grandchildren John Marshall, Morgan, and David Jr.; her daughter Mary Blankenship, husband Jeremy, grandchildren Cody, Colton, Rhyana, Aaron, and Grace; and son John Fisher, Jr., wife Cheryl, grandchildren, Shane, Ryan, and Shelby. She is also survived by: her brother, Dr. Talley Daniel and his wife Patty; sister Kay Harrell and her husband Bob; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
