Teddy Jean Rogers Leverett's Obituary
Funeral services for Teddy Jean Rogers Leverett, 87, of Henderson will be held 10:00am Monday March 30, 2015 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Justice Donald R. Ross (Ret.) officiating. Speakers will be Toni Sue Hale, Kevin Bryan and Frankie Hunt. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Ms. Leverett passed away Thursday March 26, 2015 in Henderson. She was born Nov. 28, 1927 in McNeil, AR to Ted and Margaret Rogers.
Teddy graduated from Carlisle High School and Stephen F. Austin State University where she received a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. When she retired from teaching at Henderson Independent School District after 25 years, she worked as the office manager for Bryan Funeral Home for 13 more years. She was a Charter Member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; special aunt, Mary Lynn Turner; grandparents, Clyde and Marie Smith; and the love of her life Lt. Col. (Ret.) James R. Wilson.
Survivors include her son, Stan Leverett of Austin; step-son, Steve Leverett of Lubbock; lifelong friend, Geraldine Chaney Spears of Buna; special friends, Jan Lee and Jimmy Moyers of Henderson; cousins; Sara and Gayle Miller of Frisco, Ricky and Barbara Turner of Jacksonville, Sandra Browning, Cindy and Bill Dietz of Hewitt, Larry Burrow of Magnolia, AR, Margie and O.L. Wise of Magnolia, AR.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Strong, Don Howard, Clay Wilder, Steve Hyden, Randy Bryan and Craig Sweeny. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Sadler, Elton Chaney, Tommy Berry, Mike Flanagan, Glen Deason, Bob Kelley, Jimmy Moyers, William Ashby, Ron Hyden, Mitch Beard, Pat Browning and Robert Wallace.
The family will receive friends Sunday March 29, 2015 from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
