Teddy Chrietzberg's Obituary
Teddy or Tedd as most called him, B. Chrietzberg, 82, of Longview, TX passed away from this life to his eternal home on Tuesday, December 31st, 2013. Special thanks go to the staff at Summer Meadows Nursing Home and HeartsWay Hospice for the care they gave during his last days.
Born in Quitman, TX on February 14, 1931, to Jesse M. and Willie R. Chrietzberg, he was the second of a set of twins and the baby of eight children.
Tedd graduated from Pine Tree High School and went on to attend college at what is now East Tx. Baptist University in Marshall. That is where he met the love of his life, Doris Jean.
Tedd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the maintenance department at Spring Hill ISD and liked to repair and work on everything from vehicles to houses. More importantly than being a handyman, Tedd knew and loved the Lord Jesus Christ and tried to be a witness for Him everyday. He had a good sense of humor and liked telling jokes.
Tedd was predeceased by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his wife of 60+ years, Doris Jean, of Longview; son, Les M. Chrietzberg and wife, Carol of Longview; 3 grandchildren: Katie Campbell and husband, Kyle of Denton; Travis and Logan Chrietzberg of Longview; 2 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation and viewing will be held on Sunday, January 5, from 6-8 pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. The service will be held on Monday, January 6, at 2:00 pm in the Rader Funeral Home chapel in Longview. The Rev. Keith Rothra and Rev. Ben Clayton will be officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview.
