Ted Sparks' Obituary
Memorial services for Ted Sparks, 75, of Longview will be held at the First Methodist Church of Longview, TX on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Mr. Sparks passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015. His remains will be entombed in the National Cemetery in Arlington, Texas.
Ted was born December 8, 1939 in Hallsville, TX to Sanford K. and Floy Sparks. He was the youngest of seven children.
He retired from the US Navy with the rank of Chief Hospital Corpsman in 1979. He later retired from the US Postal Service in 2000. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Longview, TX.
Ted is survived by his wife Joanne Sparks; three children Lisa Caraway of Austin, TX, Jeff and wife Vicki of Auburn, WA, Julie Klink and husband Kevin of Longview, TX; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; four sisters Jane Tarver, Nancy Duke both of Longview, TX, Marie Carson and Mary Langwell both of Houston, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother William Sparks and sister Rose Welch.
