Sylvia Sue Webber's Obituary
Sylvia Sue Webber, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 3rd, 2018 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was 81 years old. The testimony of her life, her love for the gospel of Christ, her love for her family and her service to the Lord will never be forgotten by her family, friends, and church.
Sylvia Sue Ellis was born April 12th, 1936 to Ira and Audie Ellis in Roganville, Texas. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1954 and attended Jacksonville Baptist College from 1954-1955. It was while attending college that she met her future husband, James Webber. They were married on September 2, 1955, and they remained the love of each other’s lives until he went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2016. She loved her Savior, her husband, her family, and the people of God. As a faithful pastor’s wife, she ministered alongside her husband for over 50 years wherever and whenever she was needed. She served as a Sunday School teacher, events coordinator and hostess, choir member, confidant, counselor, and friend. Everyone loved Ms. Sue, especially the children in her Sunday School classes throughout the years. She was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Company for over 25 years.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, James L. Webber. She is survived by her sister, Ann Rider and her husband, Harold Rider; her brother, Floyd Ellis and his wife, LaVerle Ellis; her children, David Webber and his wife, Mary Webber; Timothy Webber and his wife, Medina Webber; and Tina Perkins and her husband, Warren Perkins. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Crystal Welch and her husband, T. J. Welch; Suzannah Perkins; Micah Perkins and his wife, Julia Perkins; Leah Everett and her husband, Mason Everett; Lee Webber and his wife, Caroline Webber; Rachel Webber and Hannah Webber. She was very blessed to have seven great grandchildren: Jackson, Easton, and Greyson Welch; Madison, Cooper, and Anna Everett, and Kolbi Perkins. She was greatly loved by all of her family and will be dearly missed.
There will be a Visitation on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, TX and a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, March 7, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview, TX. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Park Mausoleum, Longview, TX.
