Sylvia Haskell's Obituary
Sylvia Haskell age 71, of Hallsville, passed away August 31, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Haskell was born September 12, 1943 in Hope, AR where she attended school. She was the daughter of Claude and Sarah Baker
In 1962 she met Phillip Haskell while he was on leave from the US Marine Corps. They married Sept 13, 1963 and remained side by side for 52 years. Of her many hobbies she was known for her award winning quilts. She loved making prayer quilts for service men overseas and charitable organizations. She was a member of Jay Valley Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish Sylvia’s memory are her loving husband Phillip T. Haskell, son Curtis Haskell and his wife Jackie, daughter Ann Elliott and her husband Kenneth and son Carl Haskell. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of viewing at Rader Funeral Home in Longview Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be the next day, Friday September 4, 2015 at the funeral home starting at 10am. Interment will be at Bright Star Cemetery in Hope, Arkansas later that day at 2pm.
