I was so sorry to hear just today about my dear old friend's passing. We grew up together in Gilmer and became especially close friends in college together at North Texas State. Fifty-one years ago she was a bridesmid in my wedding. I have very sweet memories of her, and I pray God's comfort and peace to bless her family.##imported-begin##Greta Cates Leard##imported-end##
Pat and Karen,
I am sorry to learn about Sylvia. She was a lovely and gracious woman. Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss.##imported-begin##Trish Brown Joyner##imported-end##
It was my pleasure to know Sylvia as a gracious lady who always beamed with a beautiful smile. She will be deeply missed by her loving family, her vast extended family of friends, and the less fortunate she lovingly reached out to with a helping hand.
God grant Joe, Pat, Blair and all of her "earthly" family strength and courage at this time knowing she has gone to join her "heavenly" family and is well and at peace.##imported-begin##Brenda Gatlin##imported-end##
My prayers are with your family. Sylvia will be missed by all who knew her.##imported-begin##Angie Shaw Tippen##imported-end##
My sincere condolences to the Collier family on your loss of Sylvia.
Sylvia and I had known each other from birth. I was born on Dec.12 and she was born the next day. Our Mothers shared a hospital room because they were friends. We went to Gilmer schools and on to college at North Texas at the same time.
She was a great friend to grow up with!##imported-begin##Elaine Douphrate Cates##imported-end##

Dear Coach Collier,
My heart broke when I heard the news yesterday of your loss. I wish I could have attended the funeral today; you were definitely on my mind. You and Mrs. Sylvia will always hold such a dear place in my heart from our years together at the baseball fields. You are in my prayers.

I knew Sylvia through her mother who was my music teacher and band director in the 50s. Each time I would talk to Sylvia she had all the time in the world for you. I'm so sorry her bright light here on earth has gone out; but she will always be so many of her friends and loved ones "favorite" person and her memory will live on.
With great sympathy, Darlene##imported-begin##Darlene Parsons Steadman##imported-end##
