Syble Pitts Harris' Obituary
Syble Pitts Harris of Longview drifted very peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on July 11, 2009. She was born on December 29, 1918 in Panola County Texas to George Drew and Rosa Belle Thompson Pitts. She graduated from Tenaha High School in 1937.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Grady Harris, her parents, her sisters, Helen Pitts and Hazel Knight and brother Chester Pitts.
Syble leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter Barbara and son in law Joe V. Tolleson, She was "Nanny" to grandson, Kenneth Taylor and wife MaryAnn, granddaughter, Kimberly and husband Jamie Davis, step grandsons, John D. Tolleson and wife Ginette, and Joe Don Tolleson and wife Susan. Her great grandchildren are Karrie Taylor, Ryan Taylor and wife Sarah, Taylor Gray and wife Kayleigh, Allison Gray, Nicole Taylor and step great grandchildren DeAnna Davis and Chris Davis, Trent and Trey Tolleson, Kate and Jack Tolleson. She also leaves behind 6 very precious great great grandchildren. Syble leaves her brother Willie Drew Pitts of Gary, sister Avis Vickery of Houston, brother in law J. W. Knight of Kingswood, and sister in law Lindall Tristani of Houston, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Syble led a very interesting life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She was a resident of Longview since 1950 and a long time member of Mobberly Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, all kinds of hand work and especially cooking for her family. She was known for saying that the most wasted day of all was one when we did not laugh.

Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 14, 20009 from 6 to 8 PM. Services will be at Rader Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 15 at 2 PM with Reverend Scott Schulik and Chaplain Don Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery.
