Suzanne Thurmon's Obituary
Memorial services for Suzanne Thurmon, 84, of Longview, will be 10 AM Saturday, January 30, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview, with Reverend David English officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Suzanne went to be with her Lord on January 19, 2010 in a Tyler hospital.
A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, she was born December 13, 1925, to Robert and Mary Thurmon. Suzanne graduated from Longview High School and received her BS degree in Business from Louisiana Tech. She retired from Amoco Production Company, New Orleans, La., as a Senior Title Analyst. Suzanne's biographical summary appears on page 204, Texas Women of Distinction, 1962. She was Louisiana Kappa Delta Alumnae President and active in Jefferson Parish Louisiana Republican Party, serving as a political analyst for Judge Melvin Shortess. Gov. Dave Treen invited her to Baton Rouge for his inauguration. After returning to Longview in 1980, she invested in real estate and pursued contract oil and gas title curative work for a number of years.
She is survived by a sister: Frances Howie and a nephews: Robert W. Howie and John Scott Howie and cousins: Mark Bond, James Bradford Bond and James Benjamin Bond. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
