Services for Sue Underwood Gill, 92, of Longview died July 5, 2016 will be held at 1 PM Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery.
Ms. Gill was born March 17, 1924 in Sulphur Bluff, Texas to Mamie Leona Holcomb Underwood and Joseph Marian Underwood. She moved to Longview in 1965 and was a hairdresser for 30 years until her retirement. Her hobbies were sewing and making quilts and growing pretty flowers. She was also a member of Alpine Presbyterian Church.
Sue is survived by her three daughters; Linda Krouse, Brenda Young and Sandra Griggs and son-in-law, Johnny Griggs. Granddaughters, Delana Hammontree, Melanie Beak, Janna Baker, Christy Young, and Tamara Young. Grandsons, Mike Young, Mark Young, Willie Hammontree and Bobby Griggs. Great Grandsons, Christopher Hammontree, Brody Ogilvie, Brant Ogilvie, Bryce Ogilvie, Josh Hooks, Mason Young, and Jackson Baker. Great Granddaughters, Kaylee Drake, Kodi Young, Makayla Young, and Lyndsie Hammontree. Great Great Grandchildren, Maddy Franklin and Benton Hammontree.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Geneva Underwood Jordan; brother, Cecil Underwood; her parents, Joseph and Mamie Underwood; son-in-law’s, Earl Ray Krouse and Nickey Howard Young, and grandson, David Earl Krouse.
