Mary Sue Fletcher Shorter went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2014. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 3, 2014, at First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. Roy James, Reverend David Dunham and Rever Read Obituary
With heart felt sympathy in the loss of your loved one. Sue was an amazing person and loved by all members of the Northeast Texas Macular Degeneration Support group. She will be missed in her complete participation in all our meetings.
I met Sue at our Macular Degeneration meetings. She was so outgoing and made everyone feel at home. She will sure be missed. I will treasure the good memories and will especially treasure the little bird houses she gave me. I will always think of her when the time changes. It was part of my routine to visit with her on Saturday and set the clocks ahead one hour or back one hour as needed. I miss you Sue.

I was so sorry to hear of Sue's death. Sue and Sam were very good friends of my parents, Mac and Anne Stratton McEachern. Sue was always so kind to my mother and Sam came to her "rescue" so many times after my father was deceased. They were both a blessing to my family. Mama and Sue were both very involved in the life of the church. I can't begin to names all the loving kindnesses and support she gave to my mother......a true friend! Now my parents and Sam and Sue are gone, but I'm sure they have reunited in heaven.

It's very hard to bear the loss of someone dear to you. May God's love heal your sorrow, and his peace replace your heartache with warm and loving memories. I will always cherish the memories of Aunt Sue. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Mike, Mark and Patrick, We were sorry to hear of Sue's death. She has been a part of our wonderful memories from the time we lived on Ruth Drive and started our families. Mike was already born when we moved across the street, and then Mark came along. We had Jim and 18 months later Pat came along, and then then we had Beth. We suggested to Sue that we slow down because we couldn't keep up having these babies one after the other. Those were the days when we would swap out baby sitting for doctor's appointments etc. One could not be around Sue without enjoying fun and
laughter. She was such a happy person. Although we left Longview over 50 years ago we have continued to keep in touch with her. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this very special times in your lives. May God's blessings continue to be on each and everyone of you.

Positive encouragement (""You'll get it next time." " I knew you could get that hit...") instead of negative reinforcement so often heard today. She certainly made a big impression on me.
