Steven "Blake" Pickenpaugh's Obituary
Steven Blake Pickenpaugh, 24, known to family and friends as “Blake”, passed away in the late evening of October 16, 2021, in Texarkana AR. A celebration of Blake's life will be held at Rosewood Park Longview Tx on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 3:00 pm. A time of fellowship will be held preceding the service.
Blake was born on September 25, 1997, in Dallas, TX to parents Steve and Katherine Hudson Pickenpaugh. He attended White Oak, Spring Hill and Longview schools where Blake excelled in athletics and made some lifelong besties. His enthusiasms were music, video games, target shooting and “chilling” with family and friends. He enjoyed studying and discussing “the big picture topics” like the difference between a fiat currency and the gold standard or what was truly an asset. Most recently he had begun training in mixed martial arts. He challenged himself by entering tournaments in Dallas and Shreveport where he won first and third in the adult division. Blake’s current occupation was working as a “Tower Man” for cell tower service company PAC Tower Services of Plano. He enjoyed the camaraderie of working men who have each other’s back daily in life and death situations and enjoyed the freedom and views atop towers hundreds of feet above the earth.
Blake was close to his father who remarried in 2018 adding a “Bonus Mom” to Blake’s family as well as his sister and her extended family.
Those left to cherish their memories of Blake include his father Steve Pickenpaugh and bonus mom Candy Pickenpaugh, Mother Katherine Hudson, sisters Georgia Painter and Helen Pickenpaugh, Brother-in-law Wolfgang Painter, nieces and nephew Anna, Alyssa, Ayden and Sean, grandparents William and Quintella Pickenpaugh, Mary and Paul Hudson along with many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends not listed but loved just the same. Blake was preceded by Grandmother Barbara Carroll “Gillam.”
Blake is greatly loved and missed by all his friends and family.
