Steven Earnest Gray's Obituary
Steven Earnest Gray ,59, passed away in his home in Hallsville, TX early Wednesday morning July 11th. Steven fought a brave battle against brain cancer and went to be with his Lord surrounded by his family. Steven was born to William and Patsy Gray in Marshall, TX on September 9, 1958. He graduated from Hallsville High School in 1977. Steven was happily married to his loving wife, Twilla Gray, for 27 years. He was a loyal employee at Sabine Mining Company for 25 years. Steven enjoyed restoring classic cars, checking out hot rods at local car shows, pulling pranks on his friends and family, golfing, travelling, and most of all loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Steven will be greatly missed by his parents William and Patsy Gray, his wife Twilla Gray, his son Taylor and his wife Kayleigh Gray, his son Jerriad Brown and his fiancee Kelsey Landers, and his devoted daughter Allison and her husband Eddie Gentry. The ones that will remember him as "Papa" are Adyson, Bailee, Zoey, Skye, Caleb, Madalyn, and Will. He is also survived by his brother Bill and his wife Robin Gray, his brother David and his wife Shannon Gray, his sister Kathy and her husband Rod Knighten, his mother in law Mary Johnson, his sister in law Wayleen and her husband Jared Wyche, his sister in law Cindy Skirlock, his sister in law Taneen and her husband David Neumeyer, and his brother in law Gaylon and his wife Tanya Johnson, his brother in law Wenzel and his wife Heather Johnson. Steve is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his fur baby, Scarlett O’Hara Gray and his true love, his 66 Ford Fairlane.
Steven is preceded in death by his grandparents O.J and Mattie Lou Minatrea, Ruth and William E. Gray Sr, and his nephew James Ross Anderson.
The visitation service will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, TX on July 13, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Hallsville, TX on July 14, 2018 at 1:00pm.
The family would like to show gratitude to his special nurses from Texas Home Health Jennifer Barker and Tammy McPherson.
